It is not a plant it is a grub in the garden, the cockshaffer grub actually gets into the lawn as well and can eat through the roots and in really bad cases you can then peel the lawn back like a carpet, we just have them scattered and not that bad but I am sure the dogs either smell them or hear them in the ground as you see then with their heads turned on the side looking intently at times, but moving the dirt for the shed just helps them out a bit more.

Finally got the photo off the camera so you can see the results of digging, hopefully one day digging for grubs will turn into digging for truffles.

Cotta has made a hole in the middle of the park and returns to dig it deeper each day! Oops!
The garden looks like we have moles :)
