Lynne; as Archie and Chester are brothers that must make us related
But seriously, this is good to know. Chester did have the odd loose time, before we moved to the Wainrights Salmon and Rice.
Generally, Chester has mellowed a lot. He now loves being groomed, and all I have to do is produce his brush and runs to grooming table and tries to jump up to it. It has made it only once!
Clearly everyone allows their dog to do certain things and have limits and rules that have to be enforced in the house. He is not allowed on the furniture or upstairs in the house (when we are not about.)
He is allowed, and seems to understand, that sitting on our knees (while we are on the furniture) is OK; and when we go upstairs he can come too as long as he stays right beside us and does not go exploring.
When he sits on my lap, I pluck out ear hair and check for tats, de-stress them to sort out what my brushing didn't. He is used to this and enjoys it, he moans like a cat purrs. The most common tats that he does not like me to 'de-stress' or ease apart are those under his jaw. Eating and drinking seems to make this area a great potential site for tats and those are the ones hardest to un-work.
