We collected Lottie from Ann on Friday. So far so good! She has settled really well. All poos in garden so far. She is getting bolder as the days go by and has started play biting mainly with the children not sure how to stop this. She has plenty of toys and chews which we try to distract her with.Has anyone got any advise on how to deal with this as the children find it a little distressing! Hope all the other pups are settling into their new homes.

Dear Lorna
All the books say that the children will have to loudly express their displeasure - "ouch" and then withdraw for a short while. The puppy should then learn bite inhibition.

We will see as we are going to pick up our puppy from the Emmroche A litter on thursday.

Hi,

Congratulations and welcome to the world of Lagottos!

When Raffi and Lottie were puppies and got a bit over excited with the play biting I was advised to shout "Ouch" loudly and stop playing for a few minutes.I think the technical term is bite inhibition.

Good luck and have lots of fun with your puppy!

Lottie is being a great mum and the puppies are doing really well. The seem to get bigger every time I look at them! They all have their eyes open now and are staggering sbout like little drunk people. They are so much fun to watch. Thanks for asking.

I bet you can't wait to get your puppy home, which one are you having?

Thank you for the advise. We had a visit from the puppy trainer who said the same yesterday and it seems to be working. Lottie went for her first visit to the vets yesterday evening the car journey was very traumatic she cried when she was in the crate so on the way back we cuddled her.Probably the wrong thing to do but I felt she had had a busy day with puppy trainer and vets!Hopefully she will get used to the crate.
